Proposed fees for trampoline courts: Expected implementation April 1, 2023
Status: Consultation open October 3, 2022 – November 4, 2022
Following a fatality at a trampoline court in Richmond in 2018, recommendations were made to the Province to bring trampoline parks under regulation. Engagement with the industry has been ongoing since 2019, and the trampoline court industry has played a pivotal role during the development of these program changes.
We are currently exploring flexible fee structure options, with the first phase of consultation related to trampoline courts. This includes a fair and transparent consultation with you. Once you’re finished reading through our options, we welcome your input through the feedback form below or by attending our Trampoline Court Forum + Connection event on October 20. A second phase of consultation involving the remainder of the amusement industry will be scheduled in 2024.
In partnership with stakeholders across the industry, we have developed an oversight model that includes substantive changes to the ways in which amusement rides and devices are regulated. The revised program requires operators to foster a culture of safety, develop safety practices that consider how their patrons interact with their rides and devices, and make plans to mitigate risks that may be associated with their operations. Read more details about our proposed changes.
