The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is now inviting public feedback on the draft of the next edition of the CSA B149 series which includes:
- CSA/ANSI B149.6-25 - Code for digester gas, landfill gas, and biogas generation and utilization. Consultation closed March 16, 2024.
- CSA B149.2-25 - Propane storage and handling code. Consultation is open until March 25, 2024.
- CSA B149.1-25 - Natural gas and propane installation code. Consultation is open until April 29, 2024.
- CSA B149.3-25 - Code for the field approval of fuel-burning appliances and equipment, including, as normative, Annex J Mobile outdoor food service unit. Consultation is open until May 17, 2024.

Next steps: TSBC's code impact and readiness assessment
After the CSA B149 code series is finalized and published, Technical Safety BC will engage with industry to assess the impacts of adopting the code in BC. We will not be able to make changes to the code during our code impact and readiness assessment, so we encourage you to provide your feedback to CSA before their deadlines as described above.
