Elevating Devices

In 2025, we will introduce two new cancellation fees noted in the fee schedule under “deferred fees”. These fees are intended to improve the quality of design registration submissions and reduce the number of cancelled and rejected submissions. For more information on either fee, please refer to the footnotes.

1. Deferred fees are proposed fee changes that would not be implemented on January 1, 2025, but at a later date with 90 days notice, subject to general fee increase.

2. Applied to elevating device designs if an application is cancelled by the applicant or rejected by Technical Safety BC after being reviewed by engineering. You would pay the cancellation fee instead of any design registration fee.

3. Applied to elevating device design applications if an application is cancelled by the applicant before being reviewed by engineering. You would pay the cancellation fee instead of any design registration fee.
