The fatal ammonia release in Kamloops highlighted the need for additional clarification regarding the roles and responsibilities in the decommissioning of regulated products at the end of their service life. In response, Technical Safety BC has drafted a Directive to specify these roles and responsibilities for Boilers, Pressure Vessels, and Refrigeration systems.
